The most resistant variants of SARS-CoV-2 are XBB, XBB.1, BQ.1 and BQ.1.1 and they are quickly expanding. A new study recently published in the journal Cell by Wang Q. et al. reveals that these variant pose serious problems to the existent and widespread COVID-19 vaccines, since they can take advantage of their capacity of evading antibodies.
